Individual Therapy

Clinical Psychology for individuals

I offer individual therapy to support adults and adolescents to achieve their personal goals for mental and physical health, life satisfaction, and relationships.

Common personal and mental health concerns that bring people to therapy include:

  • Anxiety symptoms and disorders
  • Depression and other mood disorders
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma
  • Addictive processes
  • Stress and adjustment to life events and transitions
  • Low self-esteem and self-worth
  • Eating and body image concerns
  • Emotion regulation difficulties
  • Chronic physical health concerns
  • Feeling lost, stuck or dissatisfied with life

Therapeutic modalities

I am trained in a number of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. My favourite approach is Internal Family Systems (IFS), a focused and experiential model of psychotherapy. IFS views each person as having access to the psychological and emotional resources required to achieve healing and it empowers individuals to create transformational change.

I also draw from the following therapeutic approaches:

  • Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)
  • Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals (EFIT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
